Pi Approximation Day is celebrated every year on July 22nd to honour the Mathematical constant π (pi). The day serves as an opportunity to explore the significance of pi in Mathematics, science, and everyday life, while appreciating the beauty of this irrational number. Commemorating the Importance π, the Mathematical constant, Pi Approximation Day was observed in our school on 25th July 2023, under the guidance of the Mathematics Department.

An informative video about the applications of pi and its significance was presented in all the classrooms. The students of classes 6,7,8 joined their hands to create an attractive Pi chart which was put on display. Aligning with the objectives of UNICEF i.e. Sustainable development Goal 3 (SDG 3), an informative class on “GOOD HEALTH AND WELL BEING” was convened with the resource person Dr Gayathri Prasanth for the students of classes 6 and 7. The students actively participated by giving their ideas on health and nutrition. On the same day, the students of classes 8,9 and 11 were enriched on the importance of  π with an informative speech by Sheetal of class 8, followed by a fruitful session on how to calculate pi which was presented by Muhammed Afsal A of Class 11.  A competitive quiz competition was hosted by Harry Thampi and Rayvon Sabu of class 9, which captivated the audience. The programme was made truly an unforgettable one by Navin Binu singing the pi song with his mellifluent voice. It was followed by a breathtaking Pi dance which was performed by the dynamic dancers of 9th standard. The collage of a pi salad prepared by the students was an eye catching spectacle satiating both brain and palate.
