INDEPENDENCE DAY: PRIMARY

The Independence Day holds great importance in the lives of every citizen. It was a red-letter day in the history of India when the country gained its freedom on August 15, 1947. It took hundreds of years for us to break the shackles of slavery. The people of the country celebrate this day every year with great pomp and show. Our school also celebrates this occasion every year. For this year, we have made all the preparations. As this day reminds us that freedom is sacred, as citizens, we must do everything to ensure that it shall not be endangered. Kids from classes 1 to 5 dressed up as Freedom Fighters of  various states of INDIA. They also presented dance forms from different states and our national symbols.

The ceremony started with a short scene of Lord Mountbatten handing over the plan which announced that India would be splitting into two nations after its independence—India and Pakistan. The division came into effect on August 15, 1947.

This was followed by the speech of Jawaharlal Nehru on Indian Independence Day.

The entry of Mother India and Our Father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, gave a patriotic spirit to the whole program.
