The main aim of this Environmental Studies (EVS) activity was for Class 3 students to visit Indranchira Lake, observe, and understand the effects of water pollution.
Observations
During the visit, students noticed:
1. Visible Pollutants: The water appeared muddy with an unpleasant odor. Very few fish and birds were seen around the lake.
2. Algal Bloom: Garbage and debris were observed near the shores.
Conclusion
The trip to Indranchira Lake was an eye-opening experience for the students. They learned firsthand about the harmful effects of water pollution on lakes and the need to protect our water resources. This activity highlighted the importance of environmental responsibility and encouraged students to take small steps towards reducing pollution, such as:
- Avoiding plastic use
- Practicing proper waste disposal
This experience will inspire students to become more environmentally conscious and responsible citizens.
