Every year on July 22, schools around the world come alive with the magic of Pi Approximation Day! This special day is dedicated to celebrating Pi (π), the mathematical constant that represents the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. While Pi's exact value is an infinitely long decimal, Pi Approximation Day is a chance to explore its fascinating properties and various approximations in a fun and engaging way.On Pi Approximation Day, the young minds of grade 3 got down to some serious (and fun!) business – creating amazing Pi-themed posters. The inquisitive minds of grade 4 and 5 embarked on a journey of discovery – a hands-on experiment to observe the fascinating relationship between Pi (π), circumference, and diameter.
The beauty of this experiment lies in its simplicity. By using everyday objects, students were able to observe firsthand the remarkable consistency of Pi. Regardless of the size of the circle, the ratio of its circumference to its diameter remained close to Pi.
