"Good manners and kindness are not taught, they are captured- and our little ones caught it beautifully!"
The foundation of character is laid in the early years. With this thought, the Kindergarten wing of St. Peter's conducted a special Behavioural Enrichment Programme for JKG and SKG children.
The objective was to instill the core values of good manners, politeness, respect, sharing, and self-discipline - values that begin at home, blossom at school, and stay with us for a lifetime. Children practiced the golden words - Please, Thank You, Sorry, Excuse Me & May I - through role-play.
The behavioural instinct indeed starts with the first step from home to school. What the children learn today as a small act of politeness becomes their personality tomorrow. Our JKG and SKG stars not only portrayed these values beautifully but have geared themselves to practice them day by day.
It was heart-warming to see our little ambassadors of good behaviour reminding each other, "Let's be kind, let's be polite!"
Overall, it was not just an activity, but a step towards building better human beings.
