Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 5 September 2026, commemorating the birth anniversary of the eminent philosopher, statesman and teacher, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The day was observed with heartfelt respect and gratitude towards the teachers who illuminate young minds, nurture talents and inspire students to grow.
Adding a special dimension to the celebration, students of Grades 9 and 11 stepped into the shoes of teachers and conducted classes for students of Grades 3 to 8. The experience offered the student-teachers a delightful glimpse into the world of teaching while making the school day especially memorable for the younger students.
Meanwhile, the Senate members and students of Grade 11 organised a vibrant celebration for the teaching fraternity. Planned and rehearsed over several weeks, the programme reflected remarkable creativity, dedication and teamwork. A specially compiled video carrying warm Teachers’ Day wishes from former students, engaging games, lively dance performances and entertaining enactments added to the festive spirit and kept the teachers thoroughly entertained.
The formal function was graced by members of the school leadership and management. Mr. Jibi Thomas, the Secretary of the St. Peter's Education Trust addressed the staff and spoke about the significant role educators play in the holistic development of students, emphasising that teaching extends beyond academics to shaping character, values and life skills. Principal Mr. R. K. Moses and Academic Head Mrs. Jayamala T. R. also offered felicitations and expressed their appreciation for the dedicated service of the teaching fraternity.
The celebrations were further enriched by a melodious musical treat by the teachers, adding a special charm to the occasion. As a gesture of appreciation for their invaluable contribution, each staff member was presented with a token of gratitude.
The celebration concluded on a warm and convivial note with a sumptuous luncheon, bringing the entire staff together in the spirit of gratitude, camaraderie and celebration.
Teachers’ Day at St. Peter’s was a heartfelt expression of appreciation for those who dedicate themselves to shaping lives, nurturing dreams and inspiring generations.
