FOUNDATIONAL STAGE ONAM CELEBRATION

The Foundational Stage Onam celebrations of Pre-KG and Kindergarten were geared up on 19th August, with little hands and little fingers working in unison. Our children welcomed Onam with great joy, bringing beautiful fresh flowers from home. They happily took part in making the Pookalam, carefully arranging the flowers, creating colourful patterns and watching their beautiful floral carpet come to life. Every little hand at work, every petal placed with love.

On 20th August 2026, the Foundational Stage Onam celebrations continued with a vibrant cultural programme. The programme began with a prayer song, an opening dance, and an Onam group song presented by the students of Grades 1 and 2.

The highlight of our Kindergarten celebration was our theme "ONAM BONANZA - Advertisements". The entire Senior Kindergarten beautifully portrayed how our day begins and ends with advertisements - right from the moment we wake up and brush our teeth, choosing which toothpaste to use, which brand of coffee or tea to start our day with, which brand of clothes to wear, which umbrella to carry in the rainy season, and even which paint to choose as we get our homes freshly painted for Onam. Through their skits and dances they gave a thoughtful message - Are advertisements doing our job of thinking for us? We must choose wisely.

The Pre-KG children presented a colourful and lively Athachamayam procession inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Kerala. The programme beautifully brought together a variety of traditional art forms and cultural expressions, including Oppana, Margam Kali, Kavadi, Kerala Nadanam, Pookkalam Dance, and the rhythmic beats of Chenda. Our little ones dressed up in vibrant costumes and joyfully presented the cultural richness of Kerala.

Adding festive cheer, our tiny tots of Junior Kindergarten children presented a delightful flower-themed dance, depicted the joy of the harvest and the excitement of the traditional boat race.

The celebration reached its grand finale with a captivating presentation of the legendary Aranmula Vallam Kali, followed by a lively Pulikali performance, story of Mahabali and a graceful Mega Thiruvathira.

The entire programme was beautifully woven together through a connecting skit presented by the students of Grade 1. The Foundational Stage Onam celebration was a perfect blend of tradition, creativity, awareness, and joy.
