WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY: 'Beat Plastic Pollution'
The Eco Club organized an awareness class on 'Beat Plastic Pollution' for grades 7, 8, and 9 students on June 5, 2025. Resource person Sri. P B Joshy (Retd. HM and Convenor, Kerala Shastra Sahitya Parishad, Kolenchery unit ) highlighted the alarming issue of plastic/microplastic pollution, its impact on terrestrial and marine life, and ecosystem.
The slide presentation showcased the devastating effects of plastic debris, including suffocation, ingestion problems, and entanglement of living species. Students were shocked to learn about the extent of damage caused by plastic waste to flora and fauna.
The talk emphasized measures to minimize plastic use, alternatives to plastic products, and sustainable practices like recycling and reduction. The event inspired students to take action against plastic pollution and strive for a more sustainable future.
