In a continued effort to promote the joy of reading among students, St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School, Kadayiruppu in collaboration with DC Books, organized a two-day Book Fair on August 1st and 2nd, 2025. The event was held at the quadrangle between the LP Block and Jubilee Block which was transformed into a vibrant literary hub for two days.
Day 1 – August 1, 2025: Student Visit
On the first day of the fair, students were taken to the venue in a class-wise manner during school hours. Each class was allotted a specific time slot to visit the book stalls, where they browsed through a diverse collection of books. The selections included fiction, non-fiction, biographies, classics, picture books, and activity-based materials.
Teachers accompanied the students, guiding them in identifying age-appropriate and interesting reads. Students enthusiastically explored the collections, and many made note of books they wished to purchase the following day.
Day 2 – August 2, 2025: Purchase Day with Parents
The second day of the Book Fair was open for students and their parents. Families visited the venue together, giving students the chance to buy books from their wish lists. The fair saw excellent participation from parents, who appreciated the school’s initiative and showed active interest in selecting books along with their children.
The event not only encouraged reading habits but also provided a platform for parents to engage meaningfully in their children’s literary journey. The Book Fair was a resounding success, engaging over ten grades of students and their families in the joy of reading. St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School, Kadayiruppu thanks DC Books for their collaboration and looks forward to hosting more such enriching literary events in the future.
