Promoting the timeless values of health, harmony, and inner balance, St. Peter’s Senior Secondary School celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and spirit. The programme underscored the importance of yoga in fostering physical fitness, emotional well-being, and mental clarity among students.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Swetha P. (Grade 8D), Assistant Secretary of the Health and Wellness Club, who highlighted yoga as a pathway to self-awareness, discipline, and wisdom. The Presidential Address was delivered by the Academic Head, Mrs. Jayamala T.R., who emphasized the significance of resilience and self-discipline in shaping responsible and confident individuals.
The celebration was graced by Mrs. Beena George, an AYUSH-certified Yoga Trainer and Yoga Therapist, as the Chief Guest. In her insightful address, she spoke about the transformative power of yoga in nurturing holistic health and enabling individuals to achieve balance in mind, body, and spirit.
A vibrant Mass Yoga Performance by students of Grades 3, 4, and 5 formed the highlight of the programme. Guided by the Chief Guest and student demonstrators, the participants performed a series of yoga postures and breathing exercises, demonstrating enthusiasm, focus, and discipline while embracing the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
The occasion also featured the Prize Distribution Ceremony for the winners of the Yoga Competition conducted earlier in the week. The awards recognized the students’ dedication, skill, and commitment to excellence in yoga.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ephrem Mathew Vineeth (Grade 7C), Assistant Secretary of the Health and Wellness Club, who expressed gratitude to the School Management, faculty, Physical Education Department, and Technical Team for their invaluable support in making the celebration a memorable success.
